If you want to improve your FFXIV experience, don't have a PC up to the job of running the game but do happen to have a shiny new PlayStation 4 waiting for some games worth playing, you're in luck: Square Enix has launched its PS3-to-PS4 upgrade program for A Realm Reborn, and here's how you get in on that action.
Most obviously, some of the fancier graphical effects seen on the PC version running on high settings - things like clothing and hair flapping in the wind, or characters getting wet in the rain - are nowhere to be seen, plus the game occasionally chugs a bit when a lot of players are gathered in a single place, such as when taking on one of the popular 'FATE' public quests that pop up regularly around the world.
